We are now open for bookingsTo keep you safe we are choosing to take a cautious approach – Government guidelines provides instructions about cleaning and disinfection. Cleaners can wash linens and towels etc in very hot water and wipe down high-touch hard surfaces with bleach solution but there’s only so much they can do and it still leaves all the upholstery, rugs, duvets, pillows, books etc. For peace of mind – to protect guests and our cleaners –  we are leaving a minimum of 72 hours gap, and preferably a week, between all bookings this summer and autumn.

We expect all our guests to act within the current social distancing and hygiene rules before and during your stay. Importantly, you must not come to the cottage if you have been, or suspect you have been, exposed to the virus, or you develop symptoms, and must therefore self-isolate at home. If you are unable to come due to the need to self-isolate at home we will offer to re-book your stay for a later date.

Equally, if you show any signs of having the virus during your stay you must immediately self-isolate to minimise any risk of transmission, and seek a test – see this link for the government advice if you fall ill with symptoms while visiting. If the test is positive, government advice is that you must let us know and leave for home immediately if able, avoiding public transport or unnecessary stops on your way home.  You may wish to leave the cottage for home immediately after your test to await your result, especially if you are nearing the end of your stay.

If you need to leave for this reason we will offer the unused portion of your stay (after the cleaner’s fee has been deducted) towards a further holiday with us. If you are unable to leave and must self-isolate at the cottage you must bear the cost of any additional stay (again, this is in the government guidelines).

We will offer a full refund or re-booking (whichever you prefer) if we must again close due to Covid 19 at the time of your stay.

For existing bookings where Covid-19 was not mentioned in the Ts & Cs the above is based on government advice and forms the basis of the additional policies. You may wish to take out travel insurance to protect you from any losses associated with you needing to cancel your holiday.
